Eda Kriseova

Eda Kriseová, one of the Czech Republic's leading female novelists, is the author of numerous short stories based on her experiences as a staff assistant in an institution for the mentally ill during the Communist era of Czechoslovakia. She is the author of the first official biography of Václav Havel and of some children's books, and has received critical acclaim for her recent novels. Ms. Kriseová resides in Prague and continues to write and give lectures on writing at a variety of venues. The interview, conducted in English, took place in Berlin.
